Port Hope Walk-In Clinic
The Port Hope Medical Walk-In Clinic provides professional, responsive same-day health care services for residents in Northumberland who do not currently have access to primary care. Hours of operation are currently subject to change based on physician availability.
Northumberland Paramedics
Northumberland Paramedics provide high-quality medical response and innovative non-emergency community paramedicine services across the region. The service is committed to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care and supporting the health and well-being of the community.
Long-Term Care
The Golden Plough Lodge is an accredited 151-bed municipal long-term care home located in Cobourg. The home follows the Eden Alternative Philosophy of care, supporting a resident-centred community and ensuring dignity, respect, and compassion are the foundation of its services.
Primary Care Recruitment
Northumberland County has taken steps to address the growing local shortage of family doctors with the launch of the Northumberland Primary Care Recruitment Initiative. This two-year pilot project, launched in 2025, centralizes primary care recruitment efforts for all seven municipalities of Northumberland, with the goal of improving access to primary health care across the community.
Ontario Health Team of Northumberland
The Ontario Health Team of Northumberland (OHT-N) brings together health care and community partners to provide more connected, coordinated care for people living in Northumberland County. Since 2019, OHT-N has worked to improve access, navigation, and people centred care across the local health system.
