If you are receiving Ontario Works, there are ways to make sure you get your payment on time.

Hand in your Income Statement on time

  • Income Statements are due on or after the 16th of the month
  • Make sure you sign the statement with a pen
    • If you have a spouse, they must sign it too
  • If you have income to report, make sure you write down the details for each pay stub and attach them to your Income Statement
  • If you have any changes to tell your caseworker about, write them on the Changes Report

Sign up for direct deposit

  • If you have an open bank account, you can sign up to have your Ontario Works payments deposited directly into it
  • Download or ask your caseworker for a Direct Deposit Form to fill out
    • You will have to attach your banking information or a blank cheque

Call the Interactive Voice Response (IVR) line

  • The IVR is a phone system that can tell you about your personal file
  • If you are on Ontario Works and want to know if your cheque is ready, you can call 1-800-808-2268
    • You will have to enter your member ID and your PIN number (if you are not sure what they are, please contact your caseworker)
