Resident move to new Golden Plough Lodge scheduled for August 23
Cobourg, ON – August 6, 2026 – Northumberland County has confirmed that residents of Golden Plough Lodge will move into the new long-term care home on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
The move follows months of planning and preparation, including a recent follow-up inspection by the Ministry of Long-Term Care. The County continues to work closely with the Ministry as the final steps in the licensing process are completed ahead of resident occupancy.
The transition has been carefully planned to support a safe and seamless move for residents. Staff, families, volunteers, and a professional healthcare relocation team will work together to ensure residents experience a comfortable and well-coordinated transition into their new home.
Prior to resident move-in, the community will have an opportunity to tour the new Golden Plough Lodge during a public open house. Additional details about this event will be shared in the coming days.
