TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the municipality of Northumberland County passed an amended municipal-wide development charges By-law No. 35-2025 on the 17th day of September, 2025 under section 2 (1) of the Development Charges Act, 1997, S. O., 1997 c. 27, as amended.
Northumberland County will be undertaking a new development charge study beginning in the fall of 2025. By-law 35-2025 extends the current existing development charge by-law to allow more time for the new development charge study to be completed. It also removes the requirement to index the development charges in 2025.
The development charge amounts remain unchanged by the amendment and can be viewed on the Northumberland County website at:

No key map has been provided as the by-law amendment applies to all lands located within the municipality of Northumberland County.
A copy of the complete by-law amendment is available for examination at the municipality of Northumberland County offices, 555 Courthouse Road, Cobourg, Ontario K9A 5J6 during regular business hours (weekdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM) excluding statutory holidays. A copy of the by-law amendment can also be viewed in the regular council meeting minutes from September 17th, 2025.
