Northumberland County Housing Corporation seeking applicants for Board of Directors

Cobourg, ON – April 16, 2026 – The Northumberland County Housing Corporation (NCHC) is inviting residents to fill up to three citizen representative positions on its Board of Directors.

The NCHC is responsible for managing a portfolio of more than 350 rent-geared-to-income (RGI), transitional, and affordable housing units located throughout Northumberland County. The Board of Directors provides governance and strategic oversight to support the effective operation and long-term sustainability of these housing services.

The Board is composed of members of County Council, a County staff person, and community representatives. Directors play an important role in overseeing corporate governance, including reviewing and approving by-laws, agreements, and reports; contributing to strategic direction; supporting sound financial stewardship; and participating in Board leadership and committee assignments.

The NCHC is currently seeking to appoint up to three community members who bring relevant experience, knowledge, or interest in one or more of the following areas:

  • Financial expertise
  • Legal experience
  • Planning and development experience
  • Experience in affordable housing or tenant programming

Community members with a commitment to community service and an interest in local housing initiatives are encouraged to apply. Applications must be submitted by Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m.
