“Whereas National Nursing Week provides an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the vital contributions of nurses working across all areas of health care, who consistently advocate for their patients and support improved health outcomes and well-being; and

Whereas nurses play a critical role within our health care system, contributing clinical expertise, leadership, and compassion to support individuals, families, and communities at every stage of care; and

Whereas the nursing profession is central to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care, and nurses make a meaningful difference through their commitment, resilience, and professionalism; and

Whereas Northumberland County extends its sincere appreciation to the nursing staff at the County’s Golden Plough Lodge long-term care home for their dedication to supporting residents in living with dignity, respect, purpose, and choice;

Now Therefore Be It Resolved That I, Warden Robert Crate, on behalf of Northumberland County Council do hereby proclaim May 11 – 17, 2026 to be ‘National Nursing Week’ in Northumberland County.”
