UPDATE: Special Meeting of Council called for Friday, August 15th

Cobourg, ON – August 14, 2025 – A Special Meeting of Northumberland County Council will take place on Friday, August 15th at 9:30 a.m.

Shortly after the Special Council meeting is called to order at 9:30 a.m., Council will first move into Closed Session per Municipal Act Sections 239.­(2.e), (2.f) and (2.k), in order to discuss a time-sensitive matter pertaining to litigation or potential litigation, advice that is subject to solicitor client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose and confidential County infrastructure negotiations (Public Works).

2026 Budget deliberations are then scheduled to start at approximately 10:15 a.m. Budget deliberations will be held in open session, with the exception of any items that arise during the meeting that would prompt a move to closed session based on the parameters identified in the Municipal Act.
