“Whereas mental health is an essential component of overall well-being, affecting how individuals think, feel, act, and relate to others in their daily lives; and
Whereas World Mental Health Day, observed annually on October 10, is an opportunity to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health; and
Whereas this day serves as a reminder that mental health care must be accessible, equitable, and free of stigma, ensuring that individuals and communities can thrive regardless of background, age, or circumstance; and
Whereas Northumberland County recognizes the vital contributions of mental health professionals, caregivers, community organizations, and advocates working to improve mental health outcomes and support recovery; and
Whereas our community is committed to creating a more compassionate, inclusive, and supportive society where mental well-being is prioritized and protected for everyone;
Now Therefore Be It Resolved That I, Warden Brian Ostrander, on behalf of Northumberland County Council do hereby proclaim October 10th, 2025 to be ‘World Mental Health Day’ in Northumberland County.”
