Proclamation – Seniors Month, June 2025

“Whereas the Province of Ontario has designated the month of June as Seniors Month, a time to celebrate and recognize the enduring impact and achievements of older adults in our communities; and

Whereas seniors have played, and continue to play, a vital role in building and sustaining the economic strength, social fabric, and high quality of life enjoyed across Northumberland County and beyond; and

Whereas older adults contribute as valued community members – offering their time, experience, and leadership as volunteers, mentors, caregivers, and engaged residents; and

Whereas during the month of June, Northumberland County joins communities across Ontario in reaffirming our commitment to honouring, respecting, and supporting seniors, and expressing gratitude for their lifelong contributions;

Now Therefore Be It Resolved That I, Warden Brian Ostrander, on behalf of Northumberland County Council do hereby proclaim June to be ‘Seniors Month’ in Northumberland County.”
