Proclamation – Local Love week, September 24 – 30, 2023

“Whereas Local Love Week is an initiative led by Northumberland United Way to recognize the role of United Way and its community partners in supporting the community; and

Whereas United Way Local Love Week is an opportunity to celebrate the role of philanthropy and non-profit organizations in our community that support individuals and families in need; and

Whereas Local Love Week is a week where citizens can come together to help Northumberland United Way and our community partners to rebuild a stronger Northumberland County by sharing acts of kindness, rallying for their favourite causes, and thinking about other people; and

Whereas it is fitting and proper during Local Love Week and each day to recognize the tremendous impact of philanthropy, volunteerism, and community service in Northumberland County;

Now Therefore Be It Resolved That I, Warden Mandy Martin, on behalf of Northumberland County Council, do hereby proclaim September 24 to 30, 2023 as ‘Local Love Week’ in Northumberland County, and encourage all citizens to join together to give back to the community in a way that is personally meaningful.”
