Proclamation – Local Government Week, October 14 – 20, 2025

“Whereas the province of Ontario has designated the week of October 14 – 20, 2025 as Local Government Week, offering an opportunity to recognize and appreciate the vital role municipal governments play in our daily lives; and

Whereas this week highlights the wide range of programs and services that municipalities provide – services that are fundamental to building safe, healthy, and thriving communities; and

Whereas municipalities across Ontario serve as the level of Government closest to the people, shaping the character, infrastructure, and priorities of the communities they serve;

Now Therefore Be It Resolved That I, Warden Brian Ostrander, on behalf of Northumberland County Council do hereby proclaim October 14 – 20, 2025 to be ‘Local Government Week’ in Northumberland County.”
