Proclamation – Cyber Security Awareness Month, October 2023

“Whereas the month of October is recognized as Cyber Security Awareness Month; and

Whereas Cyber Security Awareness Month is an internationally recognized campaign held each October to promote cyber security; and

Whereas digital technology plays a central role in our everyday lives and that it can have far-reaching security, economic and social impacts; and

Whereas there is an increasing threat of cyber-attacks and risks to our privacy; and

Whereas the internet is a shared resource and securing it is a shared responsibility; and

Whereas the Corporation of the County of Northumberland acknowledges its responsibility by taking a proactive and adaptive approach to protect its digital assets and is deeply committed to making long-term investments to reach our security goals;

Now Therefore Be It Resolved That I, Warden Mandy Martin, on behalf of the County Council, hereby proclaim the month of October 2023 as Cyber Security Awareness Month in the County of Northumberland.”
