Proclamation – Archives Awareness Week, April 6 – 10, 2026

“Whereas Archives collection collect, preserve, and support access to original materials that provide evidence of the past and document our cultural, social, and political heritage; and

Whereas Archives preserve governmental, corporate, and institutional records that hold entities accountable to the public and are vital in ensuring their decisions, policies and actions are well informed and transparent; and

Whereas Archives help strengthen a sense of community and belonging, and offer individuals the opportunity to connect with their own past;

Now Therefore Be It Resolved That I, Warden Robert Crate, on behalf of Northumberland County Council do hereby proclaim April 6-10, 2026 to be ‘Archives Awareness Week’ in Northumberland County.”
