Cobourg, ON – November 5,  2025 – Obtaining or replacing identification can often be complicated task—and without a valid ID, many important programs, services, and opportunities are inaccessible.

To help make this process easier for community members, Northumberland County is partnering once again with local agencies and government organizations to host an Identification and Wellness Clinic on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Northumberland County headquarters (555 Courthouse Road, Cobourg, ON).

Based on the success of similar initiatives over the last year, this event will bring together multiple service providers in one location, offering residents direct support and guidance for obtaining identification and connecting them to a range of community resources.

“We know that having proper identification opens doors—to housing, healthcare, education, and employment,” says County Community and Social Services Client Services Manager Jennifer Glover. “This clinic helps remove barriers by providing practical, face-to-face assistance from trusted community partners. It’s about making the process simpler and more accessible for everyone.”

At the clinic, attendees will be able to connect with:

  • Northumberland County Community & Social Services: Application assistance for Ontario Works and other supports.
  • Service Ontario: Assistance with health cards, address changes, and Ontario Photo Card applications.
  • Northumberland Help & Legal Centre: Assistance with program information, birth certificate applications, and fee waiver program.
  • Fleming College Academic Upgrading: Flexible skills on-demand and academic upgrading programs.
  • Ontario Health Team of Northumberland: Providing information on connecting to local primary care resources.
  • Central East Cancer Screening: Providing information on available cancer screening services.
  • Victim Services: Providing information on available programs and supports for victims of crime.
  • MP Philip Lawrence Constituency Office Staff: Assistance with federal programs, including Permanent Residency Cards, passports, and federal benefit programs.

All residents are welcome to attend. The event offers a safe and supportive space for individuals and families to receive help, ask questions, and learn about programs that can support their well-being and success.

Pre-registration is encouraged to help with waiting times, but walk-ins are welcome. Residents can sign up in advance through the County’s online registration form at Nortumberland.ca/IDClinic.
