Apply for a free micro grant and expert support through BECN’s Starter Company Growth Program

Cobourg, ON – October 14, 2025 –  After a successful intake earlier this year, the Business and Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland (BECN) is once again inviting local business owners to apply for the Starter Company Growth Program — offering entrepreneurs a chance to access up to $3,500 in micro grant funding, along with personalized training, mentorship, and hands-on business guidance.

What is the Starter Company Growth Program?

Supported by the Province of Ontario, the Starter Company Growth Program helps eligible entrepreneurs expand their existing businesses. Successful applicants will receive business training, mentorship, and access to a micro grant of up to $3,500 to invest directly into their business’ growth.

How to apply

Businesses that have been operating full-time in Northumberland County for at least 6 months can apply to receive:

• A free micro grant of up to $3,500 – no repayment, no loans, just free money!
• Free training and mentorship
• Ongoing business guidance
• Opportunities to learn and network with other local businesses and entrepreneurs

Applications are open until November 10, 2025. Space is limited, and funding will be awarded through a competitive selection process.
