Access to ID made easier: County hosts Identification and Wellness Clinic

Cobourg, ON – September 2, 2025 – Access to a valid ID is essential for connecting individuals and families to vital services, employment, housing, and other opportunities that support well-being and success. To help reduce the barriers to obtaining or replacing identification, Northumberland County Community & Social Services, in collaboration with local community and government agencies, is hosting a one-day Identification and Wellness Clinic on Wednesday, September 10, at the Career Edge Building (65 Bridge Street East, Campbellford) from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Replacing a lost or outdated ID can be a complex and time-consuming process. This clinic is designed to simplify the experience by bringing together multiple service providers under one roof to offer hands-on help and personalized support.
“Access to identification is foundational for accessing the services that help people move forward,” says Client Services Manager for Northumberland County Community and Social Services Jennifer Glover. “We’re proud to partner with community agencies and government services to make this process easier and more supportive for residents.”
At the clinic, attendees will be able to connect with:
- Northumberland County Community & Social Services: Application assistance for Ontario Works and other supports.
- Service Ontario: Assistance with health cards, address changes, and Ontario Photo Card applications.
- Northumberland Help & Legal Centre: Assistance with program information, birth certificate applications, and fee waiver program
- Fleming College Academic Upgrading: Flexible skills on-demand and academic upgrading programs.
All residents are welcome to attend. Whether you’re looking to replace an ID or connect with community resources, this clinic is a one-stop opportunity to receive help in a safe, supportive environment.
Community members are encouraged to pre-register for the clinic using the County’s online form at Northumberland.ca/IDClinic. While pre-registration helps streamline the process and reduce wait times, walk-ins are welcome, and registration is not required to attend.
A second Identification and Wellness Clinic will be held on Wednesday, November 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Northumberland County headquarters (555 Courthouse Road, Cobourg), to ensure community members across the county have access to this support.
