Northumberland County invites you to join us in the County Forest this October to celebrate all that this wonderful community resource has to offer!

Oaktober is a free day of learning and fun in nature, including:

  • a free BBQ;
  • guided hikes for outdoor enthusiasts and families;
  • information about how the County protects and maintains the forest and rare oak savannah habitat;
  • children’s scavenger hunts and interactive displays; and
  • the chance to interact with local Forest user groups and discover new ways to explore the forest, such as:
    • Mountain biking
    • ATVing
    • Snowmobiling
    • Skiing
    • Hiking and more!

Hike Schedule:
